How to Apply for Voter ID Card Online Procedure 2024

Are you 18+ and want to participate in elections, so for participating in elections it is mandatory to have a voter id card. If you don’t have voter id card, don’t worry in this article we will tell you how you can get your own voter id card by just sitting at home from online procedure.

In 2024, you can apply for Voter ID through website and application. In this article we will discuss about both procedures.

Online Procedure to Apply for a Voter ID from Website :-

• Open any web browser and visit “voters.eci.gov.in”, it’s official website of election commission of India (ECI).
• Now Navigate to “NEW REGISTRATION FOR GENERAL ELECTORS”
• then click on “FILL FORM 6”.
• Now you have to sign up on there portal. After signing up, login in using your details.
• Now you have to fill the “FORM 6” correctly. 
• Here you need to provide your proof of residence and proof of date of birth, you can upload your Aadhar card and birth certificate.
• then after completely filling form 6 correctly, you need to click on “PREVIEW AND SUBMIT”
• Then just submit your form 6.
• If your Form summited successfully, You will get reference number.
• After that within a week you will get a call from BLO, just for the confirmation.
• within a month you will get your voter id card by post.

 

Online Procedure to Apply for a Voter ID from Application :-

• Install “VOTER HELPLINE” application, This application is available on playstore and app store. 
• You need to signup on this application, after sign up just sign in through your login credentials.
• Now Click on “VOTER REGISTRATION”
• Now click on “FORM 6 NEW VOTER REGISTRATION”
• Now you need to login again using your mobile number.
• Now click on “LETS START”
• Then click on “YES I AM APPLYING FOR THE FIRST TIME”
• Now you will get form 6, just fill form 6 completely.
• While filling form 6, you need to upload your address proof and date of birth proof . You can upload your Aadhar card and birth certificate.
• When you fill your form 6 completely then hit “next”
• Then after completely filling form 6 correctly, you need to click on “PREVIEW AND SUBMIT”
• Then just submit your form 6.
• After summited form successfully, You will get an acknowledgement in that you can find reference number.
• After that within a week you will get a call from BLO. They will confirm your details on call, just for the confirmation.
• Within a month you will get your voter id card by post.

If you are applying for a voter id then you need to provide a few documents like your age proof, address proof and a proof of your citizenship.

• A Passport Photograph with White Background.
• Proof of Age (You can provide your Birth Certificate, Passport or your Driving License)
• Proof of Address (Utility bill, Ration Card, Passport, Aadhar Card)
• Proof of Citizenship (You can provide Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate or Passport)
• Form 6, You can fill it online or you can fill form 6 offline as well. You can get this form 6 on a election commission of India portal.
• you need a valid Mobile Number and an E-mail address.
